BeCozU combines transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation (taVNS) with an earbud-style form factor and real-time biosignal monitoring so users can support healthier nighttime routines at home.
What is taVNS?
taVNS delivers gentle electrical pulses to areas of the ear innervated by the vagus nerve. This non-invasive approach is associated with activation of the parasympathetic (“rest-and-digest”) response and may help users settle before bedtime. BeCozU operates in a low current range of 0.5–2.0 mA.
Company study results
In a company-run pilot study conducted in 2024, participants who used taVNS showed a 71% improvement in Insomnia Severity Index and a 62% improvement in Epworth Sleepiness Scale compared with non-users. OceansBio plans additional clinical evaluations this year to further assess the effects of taVNS across a broader user base.
